You can find Mehra Arts on the first floor of Halwasiya Market in Hazratganj. Our address is number 71. Since we are on the first floor, you have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them. The market itself is an old place with a lot of character. We deal with art and supplies, so the shop is usually full of the smell of paint and wood. We have frames leaning against the walls and canvases stacked up high. It’s not the most organized shop, but we like it that way. There is always something new to look at. We spend time helping people pick out frames or looking at the work they’ve brought in. Hazratganj is a busy area, so there is always a lot of noise coming up from the street, but once you are inside, it feels a bit calmer. The light coming through the windows is pretty good in the afternoons, which helps when we are looking at colors. We’ve been in Halwasiya Market for a long time and we’ve seen many businesses come and go. We just keep doing our thing, day in and day out. It’s a bit of a climb to get to us, but most of our regulars don't seem to mind. We just focus on the pieces in front of us and try to keep the dust off the finished work. The wooden floor creaks in certain spots, but we just know where to step.
