We are up on the 4th floor of the New Janpat Complex at No. 9-A Ashok Marg in Hazratganj. Being in Hazratganj means we are right in the middle of everything, which is convenient but also means parking is always a headache for us and anyone visiting. The office is full of blueprints, site photos, and various files related to the projects we handle. Since we are on the 4th floor, we get a bit of a view of the street below, though we’re usually too busy to look out the window much. The elevator in this building is a bit slow, so we often end up taking the stairs if we’re in a rush. It’s a typical office environment with some desks pushed together and a small area for meetings that usually has someone’s lunch bag sitting on the table. We handle a lot of the back-end work for infrastructure here, so there’s a lot of talking on the phone and looking at spreadsheets. It’s not a quiet place; there is always someone typing or discussing a plan for a new site. We’ve been in this complex for a bit now, and we know the other people on our floor. It feels like a real community in the building. We try to keep things moving along, even when the permits or the weather slow down the actual work out in the field. It’s just a lot of coordination and keeping track of details.
