Harish General Store

Harish General Store is located in one of the oldest parts of Lucknow called Chowk. Specifically, we are in Ban Wali Gali. If you know Lucknow at all, you know that Chowk is very famous for its narrow lanes and that old-world feel. Our shop is right in the middle of all that activity. The pincode here is 226003. Being in a gali means we don't really have a lot of space to work with, but we make the most of what we have. We sell all kinds of general items that people living in these narrow streets need every single day. There is a lot of history in these old walls, and our store has seen many changes in the neighborhood over the years. We have high wooden shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. Sometimes it is actually hard to find things quickly, but we know our inventory by heart. The sounds of the city, the smell of food from nearby stalls, and the constant chatter of people walking by are what we hear all day long. We start our day by cleaning the front step and getting the daily milk crates inside. It’s a very traditional way of running a business. We don't have any website or anything like that. We just rely on the people who live in Ban Wali Gali and the surrounding areas of Chowk. It’s a busy life, but it’s a good one because we are always around friends and neighbors.
