Garg Opthalmic Centre

Our centre is tucked away at B-54 Bans Mandi in Nirala Nagar. It’s a quiet enough spot once you get inside. We have been working out of this building for a while now, and the routine hasn't changed much. Every morning we sweep the front step and get the lights turned on in the display area where the frames are kept. We spend a lot of time adjusting glasses or looking through files. The walls have a few posters about eye health that have been there since the day we opened. We don’t really go for fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s a working office. The staff usually brings their lunch from home and we eat in the back room while listening to the radio. People come in with all sorts of issues, and we just try to get them seen in the order they arrived. Sometimes someone loses their temper because they've been waiting, and we just have to stay calm and explain the situation. The air conditioning works okay but it struggles when the afternoon sun hits the front window. We use a lot of handwritten notes even though we have a computer. It just feels easier that way sometimes. When five o'clock rolls around, we start thinking about finishing up. We check that all the equipment is covered and the spectacles are straight on the shelves. Then we just head out and do it all over again the next day in Nirala Nagar.
