Friends Foot Wear Fashions is situated at 131/2B Raniluxmibai Marg in Lucknow, quite close to the old Baradari. We’ve been here for a long time, and the shop has become a bit of a fixture in the neighborhood. It’s an older building, and the space inside is somewhat small and a bit uneven, but it has character. We sell shoes and footwear, and we spend most of our day helping people try things on and finding the right sizes in the back. It’s not a high-tech operation. We don’t have a website or a fancy inventory system. We just know where everything is because we put it there ourselves. Lucknow is a city with a lot of history, and being near the Baradari makes us feel like we’re part of that. The street outside can be very busy with people and rickshaws, especially during the festival seasons. We handle all the chores ourselves, like sweeping the doorstep and unpacking the crates when they arrive from the suppliers. We aren’t some big corporate chain with polished floors and bright lights. We’re just a local shop where we try to treat people fairly and keep things simple. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for years. It’s a steady life, and we don’t ask for much more than that. We just open up and do our best every single day.
