Dr Dixits Clinic

The clinic is tucked away at K 38 Karuna Bhawan, right in the Ashiyana area of Alambagh. If you know Lucknow, you know Alambagh can get pretty crowded, but our little corner feels a bit more like a neighborhood spot. Karuna Bhawan is a familiar building for the people living nearby. We’ve been operating out of here for a long time. It’s just Dr. Dixit and a couple of us helping out with the paperwork and keeping the place running. The waiting room isn’t huge, but it’s enough for the folks who drop by throughout the day. We get a lot of regulars, families who have been coming to see us for years. You get to know people’s names and their stories after a while. It’s not a high-tech facility with all the latest gadgets, just a reliable place to go when you have a fever or a cough. The walls are a simple shade of off-white, and we have some old magazines on the table that nobody really reads anymore. We try to stay organized, but sometimes the files pile up when it’s a busy Tuesday. It’s a quiet life here in Lucknow. We open up in the morning, sweep the front, and get ready for whoever needs us. The clock on the wall ticks quite loudly when the room is empty, but that doesn't happen very often. Usually, there’s a low murmur of conversation. We keep a bottle of water and some plastic cups in the corner for anyone who’s thirsty.
