Our office is tucked away on the third floor of an old building at 119/160 KA in Khandari Bazar. If you are familiar with the Baildari Lane area of Lucknow, you know how crowded and lively it gets during the day. Climbing those three flights of stairs every morning is definitely a workout for us. The building has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and it suits what we do just fine. From our windows, we can hear the constant honking and the shouting of vendors down in the bazaar, which is just the way Lucknow is. Inside, it’s a lot quieter. We have a couple of desks piled with registers and a few chairs for when people come in to discuss their accounts. We don't have any of those high-tech gadgets or fancy decorations. It’s just us, some pens, and a lot of paper. Most people who visit are locals who have been living in this part of the city for years. We know their faces and we know their kids. We just handle the money stuff so they have a reliable place nearby. It isn't a corporate setup at all. We mostly just drink our tea, do the calculations, and chat about the weather or the price of things in the market. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of place where we try to do right by our neighbors in Khandari Bazar. We don't mind the noise much anymore because it feels like home.
