Dampatti Mehandi Parlour

We are located right across from Tulsi Theatre at Ansal City Centre. It’s a busy spot in Hazratganj and we’ve been here for a while now. Most days it is just us sitting with cones and waiting for the next wedding season to start or for a festival to come around. Mehandi is a slow process so customers have to be patient when they sit down in our chairs at Lgf-70. We don't have a big fancy setup but the space is enough for a few people to get their hands done at once. People usually find us when they are out shopping in the city center. Sometimes it gets really crowded during Karwa Chauth or Teej and we have to put out extra stools. It can be a bit messy with the henna smell and the plastic sheets we use to cover the floor. We mostly do traditional designs but people bring photos on their phones too. We just look at the screen and try to copy what they want as closely as we can. It is a small business and we manage everything ourselves from cleaning the floor to mixing the paste in the mornings. Sometimes the light in the basement isn't the best but we make it work with extra lamps. It’s just a regular local shop where we spend our whole day. We see a lot of different people coming through the mall and some stop by just to ask about prices. We try to keep things simple here.
