Baba Hospital

We are at No. 56 Matiyari, right near the Baba Hospital Chinsat area. It is a local spot that stays quite active. The hospital sits in a neighborhood where people know each other, so you often see neighbors bumping into one another in the hallway. The building has several floors, and the stairs are usually busy because the lift is slow or being used for stretchers. We have the usual departments you would expect, and the layout is a bit cramped in some of the older sections. You can hear the sounds of the street from the front windows, with vendors and cars passing by Matiyari. It gets very busy in the emergency area during the evenings. The staff works in shifts, and there is always someone at the reception desk, even if they are busy on the phone or writing in a logbook. We don't have fancy decorations or a big lobby; it is just a functional hospital meant for the local population. Sometimes the wait times get a bit long, and the benches in the corridor fill up with families. The nurses are usually seen rushing between the wards with trays of medicine or paperwork. It is an honest place that deals with everything from minor fever to more serious admissions. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the priority is always the patients who are currently in the beds. Everyone here just works hard to get the job done.
