Hytech Instruments & Services

Working at Hytech Instruments & Services means spending a lot of time listening to the traffic moving overhead. We are located at No. 278/39/2, right below the Aishbagh Flyover. The rumble of the cars and trucks is just something we got used to over the years. Inside the shop, things are usually a bit cluttered with various tools and instruments that need looking at. There is a specific smell of metal and cleaning oil that never really goes away. We have got a small bench where most of the actual work happens under a bright lamp that hums a little. Sometimes the dust from the road outside gets in, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. It is not a quiet place, but it is where we spend our hours. Customers find us because of the location under the flyover; it’s a good landmark even if it is noisy. We usually have the radio playing in the background to drown out the heavy vehicles. Most of the guys here have been doing this for a long time, so we know which drawer holds which screw without looking. We take our lunch breaks sitting on the plastic stools near the entrance. It is a simple setup and we don't try to pretend it is something else. We just focus on the task in front of us until it is time to lock up and head home.
