Being out here in Transport Nagar on Kanpur Road means we are always surrounded by big trucks and a lot of noise. It is just the nature of this area. We have our warehouse space at E-157 where we spend our days managing whatever comes in on those long trailers. It is a lot of physical work, checking lists and making sure boxes are stacked where they won't get tripped over. The dust from the road comes in whenever the big bay doors are open, so we are constantly sweeping the floors. My desk is tucked in a small corner where I can keep an eye on the loading dock. We have a small crew and we all know the routine by heart now. Some days are slow and we just sit around drinking tea while waiting for a late shipment, but other days everyone is running to meet a deadline. Logistics sounds like a very big word, but mostly it is just making sure one box gets to the right spot without getting crushed or lost. The traffic on Kanpur Road can be a real nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get our main work done early in the day. We don't have a fancy reception or any air conditioning in the main area. It is just a practical workspace with concrete floors and high ceilings. We focus on the task at hand and try to keep our paperwork straight. It has been our home for a while now, and we've seen the neighborhood grow.
