Yingnyu Organic Navfed Farmers Producer Company Limited

The Yingnyu Organic Navfed Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Pongo Village in the Longleng district. We operate out of T Lakba Phom’s place, which is where we manage all our activities. Being a Phom-led group, we are deeply rooted in the traditions of our village and the surrounding hills. Pongo is a bit of a trek for some, but it’s our home and it’s where our best organic produce comes from. We don't have a corporate office with secretaries; we just have a room at Lakba’s house where we sit on benches and talk about our crops. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so we know the land in Longleng better than anyone else. We joined up with the Navfed system to help us reach more people, but at the end of the day, we are just village farmers. The postal code here is 798625, and though we’re tucked away in Nagaland, we stay pretty busy. We don't use fancy English or marketing slogans because that’s not how we do things in Pongo. We just grow what we can and help each other get it to market. If you come to the village, just ask for Lakba’s place and you’ll find us. We’re usually around talking about the weather or the next harvest. It’s a quiet life, but the work we do together is important to all of us here.
