We’re based out of Hesalpiri, specifically at the home of Dhyan Lohra in Pahan Toli. It’s a quiet spot compared to the big cities, and that suits us just fine. Most people around here are farmers or work in the local trades. We started this sansthan because we saw that a lot of our neighbors were struggling with things that could be fixed if we just worked together. Our office is just a simple room with a couple of desks and some benches. We don't have air conditioning or anything fancy, just a ceiling fan that squeaks a bit. People come by in the evenings after they’re done with their work in the fields. We talk about how to get better seeds, or maybe how to fix the well that’s been acting up. It’s all very practical stuff. We aren't trying to be some big national organization. We just care about Pahan Toli and the folks who live here. Sometimes we don’t have enough chairs and people have to stand, but nobody seems to mind. It’s about the community coming together to solve its own problems. We don't write big reports. We just do the work and hope it helps the next person in line. It’s a slow process, but we’re used to that way of living. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with whatever needs doing next in the village every day.
