Wild Himalayas Travel

The office for Wild Himalayas Travel is right across from the main taxi stand in Leh Ho. It gets pretty loud out there with all the drivers calling out and the engines running early in the morning. We spend a lot of time just watching the chaos from our window. People usually drop in because they just got off a bus or a jeep and need to know where to go next. Our address is 194101 and being opposite the taxi stand makes us easy to spot, even when the town is crowded in the summer months. We don't have much of a fancy setup, just some chairs and maps on the wall that have been there for years. The air in Ladakh is dry, so we always have a kettle going for tea. When the season is busy, it feels like the whole world is passing by that taxi stand. We know most of the drivers by name and we know which roads are blocked by snow or rocks because we talk to them every day. It’s not a corporate office with a big staff. It's just a few of us trying to keep things organized. If you come by, you might find us busy on the phone or just chatting with a local friend. That's just how the day goes here in Leh. It's a simple way of doing things, but it works for us.
