Voyages Karma India

Our small office is tucked away in the Gula Complex on Old Road. It is a busy little corner of Leh where you see a lot of tourists and locals mingling throughout the day. Voyages Karma India is where we spend most of our daylight hours. We handle a variety of travel arrangements, from booking local taxis to setting up longer trips across the Ladakh region. The Gula Complex has a few other shops nearby, so there is always some noise and activity outside our door. We have a simple desk and a few chairs for visitors to use. We do not go in for fancy decorations or expensive furniture. Most of our wall space is covered with maps and calendars to keep track of everything. Working in Leh means you have to be flexible because things like landslides or sudden snow can change everything in an afternoon. We spend a lot of time talking to the local authorities about permits. It is not the most exciting part of the job, but it has to be done correctly. We have been operating from this location for some time now. We know the other business owners on Old Road quite well. Sometimes we share a pot of tea and talk about how the season is going. It is a straightforward business, no frills or big promises. We just try to get the logistics right for everyone.
