Snow Leopard Trails

We are located within the Kangla Chen Hotel Complex in Leh Ho. It is a convenient spot since many people stay at the hotel and just walk over to see us in the office. Snow Leopard Trails is a small outfit focused on the local terrain and mountains. We spend our time coordinating with guides and checking on the status of the trails in the higher reaches of the valley. The office is modest, with just the essentials for running a travel business. We have some books about the local wildlife and some old maps that have seen better days. Ladakh is a beautiful place, but it can be harsh, so we spend a lot of time talking to travelers about safety and the thin air. We are not a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us who know the area well. The hotel complex can get quite busy during the peak summer months. We hear the sounds of travelers arriving and departing all day long. In the winter, the whole place goes quiet and we spend more time drinking tea and planning for the next year. It is a slow life in some ways, but there is always something to do, like fixing equipment or updating our records. We like being based here in Leh Ho. It feels like the heart of the town. We just keep things moving as best as we can.
