Ladakh Shambhala Tour & Travel

Our shop is Number 15 in the Hemis Complex, located in Leh Ho. Ladakh Shambhala Tour & Travel has been sitting in this same spot for quite a while now. The address is 194101, and if you wander into the complex, you will find us easily enough. Shop 15 is a small unit, but it’s enough for what we do. We have a few chairs for visitors and a lot of maps tucked into the corners. Most of the people who work here were born and raised in Ladakh, so we don't need a computer to tell us how long it takes to get to Pangong or Nubra. We just know from experience. The office can get a bit crowded when a whole group comes in at once, but we usually manage fine. We don't go in for big advertisements or flashy slogans. We just focus on getting the permits sorted and making sure the cars are in good shape. Living and working in Leh means you have to be flexible because things change quickly with the weather and the roads. We take it one day at a time. If you drop by, we will likely offer you some tea and talk about the mountain passes. It’s a very local way of doing things, and we wouldn’t want to change that for a more corporate style.
