Ladakh Out Doors

We have been based here in Leh Ho for quite a while now. Living in Ladakh is something else, especially when you see the seasons change from the office window. Ladakh Out Doors is just a few of us who know these roads well. We spend a lot of time checking tires and making sure the blankets are clean for the trips. It gets dusty here in the summer, and we are usually busy cleaning things up. People come in and ask about the passes, and we tell them what we heard from the drivers who just came back. It is not a fancy place, just some desks and maps on the wall. We try to keep things moving. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we just sit and drink tea while waiting for emails to load. Most of the guys here grew up in these mountains. We know where the road gets bumpy and where you can get a good bowl of thukpa. It’s just how life is here in 194101. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It is more about making sure the car starts in the cold morning and that the fuel tanks are full. We’ve seen many travelers come through, some tired and some excited. We just do our part from our small spot in Leh. It’s a lot of work but we are used to it by now. There is always something to fix or a route to double-check before the sun goes down.
