Youth Cultural Centre Foundation

We run the Youth Cultural Centre Foundation from the Ladakh Buddha Vihar on Bela Road. You can find us care of Tashi Namgyal at the monastery in the Civil Lines area. It is a very different kind of place to work compared to a regular office building. Since it’s a monastery, there is a certain quietness to the air, though Bela Road itself can get pretty noisy with traffic. We have a small room where we keep our stuff. It’s mostly just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of papers related to our cultural activities. We don't have a big team of employees. It’s just a few of us who care about keeping things going. People come in and out, some to visit the monastery and some to see us. The space is a bit old, with some cracks in the plaster here and there, but it has a good feel to it. We don't use any fancy technology, just the basics to get the job done. Working here in Civil Lines means we are close to the heart of things but tucked away enough to focus. We spend our days planning events and talking to the youth who stop by. It isn't a polished corporate environment. It's a place where we sit on the floor sometimes or share a simple meal while we work. If you're near the Buddha Vihar, come say hello. We are usually here until the evening prayers start.
