About Steelman Engg.& Forgings – Metals & Minerals in Latur
Our setup at M-108/3 in the MIDC industrial area isn't much to look at from the outside, but we stay busy. Steelman Engg.& Forgings has been part of this landscape for a while. The main thing you notice when you walk in is the heat from the furnaces and the steady thud of the hammers. It’s a heavy environment. We work with raw steel, shaping it and forging it into whatever is needed that week. The air always smells a bit like hot metal and machine grease. Most of the staff have been with us for years, so they just get on with it without needing a lot of direction. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or marketing stuff because our work usually speaks for itself to the people who actually need forgings. The road outside can get pretty torn up from the heavy trucks coming through, especially during the monsoon season. Inside, we just keep the machines running. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping an eye on the temperature gauges. We have our tea breaks out by the side door where there’s a bit of a breeze. It’s just a regular engineering shop doing honest work day in and day out. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just us, the steel, and the tools we’ve used forever. No frills, just forging.
