Shirshe Clinic

You can find Shirshe Clinic right opposite the bus stand in Bahargaon. It’s a handy spot for anyone traveling through Kannad or living out here in the Aurangabad area. The building is older, and you have to step up a couple of concrete stairs to get inside. We have a small desk where we keep the registers. Most of our days are spent talking to neighbors who stop by because they’re feeling under the weather. Since we’re right across from where the buses park, there’s always the sound of engines and people shouting for tickets. It becomes part of the background after a while. The room where we see patients is small and has a simple curtain for privacy. We keep some basic medicines on the shelves behind the counter. It isn't a place with a lot of staff. Usually, it’s just the doctor and someone helping out with the patients. We don’t have air conditioning, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. Sometimes cows wander by the front door. It’s just a normal part of life in Bahargaon. People come in, tell us what’s wrong, and we do our best to help them out. It’s a straightforward way to run a clinic. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just stay here and help whoever shows up after their bus ride. Most days are pretty much the same for us.
