Sanjay Gandhi Urdu Primary School

Down in Udgir, in the Malkapur area of Latur, is where Sanjay Gandhi Urdu Primary School is situated. Since it’s a primary school, it is almost never quiet until the final bell rings in the afternoon. We teach in Urdu, and you can hear the children practicing their alphabet and reading out loud throughout the day. The building is a simple structure, and we try our best to keep it in good shape despite the constant wear and tear. Most of the students come from the local neighborhood, and their families have been in this part of Latur for generations. We don't have a huge staff, just a few dedicated teachers who handle multiple subjects and keep an eye on the little ones during the breaks. The desks are a bit small for the older kids, but they make do. There’s a lot of energy here, especially when it’s time for games or when someone brings a ball to school. We don't have a big library or a computer lab, just the classrooms and a small office for the principal. It’s a very local feel, where the parents often stop by to chat with the teachers at the gate. The sun can get really hot in this part of Maharashtra, so the kids spend most of their time inside the classrooms where it's a bit cooler. It’s a modest place, but it serves the community here in Malkapur every single day.
