Loni village is where we are based, out in the Udgir Taluka. Our place is near the Shivaji Marg Killa, which everyone around here knows. We deal with dal and the processing side of things. It gets loud inside the unit when the machines are running. You can smell the grain in the air from down the street. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning. We have big bags stacked up everywhere and the floors are always being swept. People from the surrounding farms come in and out all day. We’ve been at this for some time. The road by the fort gets busy, especially in the mornings when the transport starts moving. We keep the doors open mostly to let the air circulate. Sandeep Dal Industries isn't a huge operation but we stay busy. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet for a bit, then we just wait it out. My family has been around this area forever. We know the neighbors and the local drivers who haul the goods. It’s just daily work, making sure the dal is sorted and ready to go. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. If you need to find us, just look for the building near the killa. It’s a plain building with a lot of movement. We keep our records in big books and talk to people face to face. It’s the way we like to do things. It is just basic work.
