Our little office is right at Shop Number 1 in Rehmat Nagar, over in Chakur. If you are in the Latur district and passing through our taluka, you’ve probably seen the area. We chose this spot because it’s easy for the local townspeople to reach without having to go all the way into the main city. It’s just a single shop unit, but it’s enough for what we do as a Nidhi company. We have our desks set up and a place for people to sit while we go over their accounts. We don't use any of that high-level banking talk that just confuses people. We like to keep it plain and simple. If someone wants to save a bit of money every month, we show them how. If they need a small hand with something, we look at the papers together. It’s very much a face-to-face kind of place. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. The neighborhood is friendly, and we try to be a part of that. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just trying to provide a decent place for our neighbors to handle their finances. It can get a bit warm in the afternoons, but we have a fan going and the door is always open for anyone who wants to chat about their savings.
