Sai Clinic

Our place, Sai Clinic, is situated right on the main road at Aurla Phata in Kannad, Aurangabad. Being on the main road means there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the buses and trucks roaring past all day long. It makes the clinic easy to find, though, which is good for people traveling from further away. The clinic isn't very large. It’s a simple building with a small porch where people sometimes stand to get some air. Inside, we have the usual setup—some benches, a table for registration, and the rooms where we see patients. It’s a bit of a dusty spot because of all the traffic, so we are constantly wiping down the counters. We aren't a big medical center with hundreds of staff members. It’s just a few of us who have been here for a while. We know the local shopkeepers and the farmers who come in from the surrounding fields. Sometimes the language we use isn't perfectly professional, but we understand each other just fine. We don't have any corporate manuals or strict scripts to follow. We just talk to people like they are our neighbors, because they usually are. Kannad is a place where everyone seems to know everyone else's business, and the clinic is no different. We just keep things moving and try to help out whoever walks through the door, keeping track of things in our own way and ignoring the noise outside.
