Marathwada Shetkari Urban Nidhi Limited

Marathwada Shetkari Urban Nidhi Limited is located at the house of Sow. Kore Bharatbai Nilkantrao in Majage Nagar. This is part of the Latur area. We are a bit different because we operate from a place that feels more like a home than a stiff office. Majage Nagar is a quiet neighborhood and we like it that way. Since the name has Shetkari in it, a lot of our visitors are people who have links to farming or live in the smaller villages around Latur. They come to us because they need a place to keep their earnings or to get a small loan for their personal needs. We don’t have big flashing lights or a huge staff. It’s just a few of us sitting around the tables and writing in the registers. Latur can get very hot in the summer, so the office is a place where people can sit for a minute and rest while we finish their paperwork. We try to keep things very simple because not everyone who comes in is used to big bank rules. We explain things in the local language and make sure everyone is comfortable. The day usually starts early and we finish up when the work is done. It’s a steady life here. We don’t have a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to keep the accounts straight. Most of our members are like family to us after all these years of working together in this community.
