Latur is a bit of a dry place usually, and here at Gammon India Ltd, we are tucked inside Shreeniwas Appartment. Specifically, it is Block No. 2 in Motinagar. If you know the area near Hanumantwadi, you basically know where we are. It’s not a fancy office tower or anything like that. Just a regular apartment setup where the paperwork gets done. The sun hits the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going. Most days, it is just about managing the local stuff and making sure things are moving. People walk by on their way to the temple or the local shops. It gets quiet in the evenings once the traffic around Motinagar settles down. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, and the neighbors know us. There is a tea stall not too far away that we frequent. Latur has its own pace, and we just follow it. Being in Maharashtra, you get used to the heat and the dust, but inside the apartment, it’s alright. We don’t have any big signs or flashing lights, just the name on the door. It feels more like a home base than a corporate headquarters, which works for us. We handle what needs to be handled and try to stay organized. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but that is just part of living in this district. We keep the registers updated and wait for the next set of instructions to come through.
