Shiv Udyog

Shiv Udyog is located over in the Gajanan Nagar Soot Mill Area. It is an older part of town where a lot of manufacturing happens, so the roads are usually full of trucks and carts. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We spend most of our time on the floor making sure everything is running the way it should. It is not a very quiet place to work, but we are used to it by now. The team here consists of local people who live nearby, which makes things easier for everyone. We open up the shutters early in the morning and stay until the work for the day is done. Sometimes we have a lot of stock piled up, and other days it moves out fast. We don’t spend much time on paperwork or sitting in offices. Most of the action happens right where the materials are. The Soot Mill area has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of that. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, so we all know each other well. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just take a break and wait it out. It’s a simple way of working, focusing on what’s right in front of us. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just show up and do the work that needs doing. There are times when it gets quite dusty, so we wear masks while we work. It’s a long day usually, but we are happy to have the steady work. We keep our tools clean and start over the next day.
