About Datta Krupa Roller Flour Mill – Food & Beverages in Latur
Working at the mill in MIDC is a dusty business. At Datta Krupa Roller Flour Mill, specifically at No-C-32, 33, and 34, the air is almost always white with the fine powder of ground wheat. You can hear the hum of the rollers from the main road. I spend my mornings checking the hoppers and making sure the grain is feeding in correctly. It is a big space, but it feels small because of all the jute sacks stacked up to the rafters. We handle a lot of grain every single day. The floor is always slippery with dust, so you have to watch your step near the machinery. My clothes are never clean; the flour gets into every fold of the fabric. People from the nearby villages and some local traders bring their loads here. We don't have a front office or anything like that. If someone wants to talk, they just come find me near the back where the loading dock is. The heat gets pretty bad in the summer months under the tin roof, but we keep the fans going as much as we can. It’s hard labor, lifting those heavy bags and moving them onto the trucks. We don't spend time on making things look pretty. It’s an industrial area, and we are here to produce flour for the local markets. That is about it. Every evening, I spend an hour just sweeping up, but by the next morning, the dust is back again.
