We operate out of House Number 404 in Kranti Nagar, located in Udgir within the Latur district. The name of our Nidhi is quite a mouthful, but it really just reflects our idea to help the local people here grow their savings. Udgir is a place where people work hard, especially those tied to the land, and we wanted to provide a place that understands that. Our office is just a part of a building in a regular residential street. It’s not a corporate skyscraper, and we don’t wear suits or ties. Most days, you’ll find us in our everyday clothes, ready to help whoever walks in from the street. We get a lot of farmers and small shopkeepers who want to set aside a bit of money for their families. We sit down together, often over a glass of water or some tea, and go over the accounts. We try to keep the language simple and the process easy to follow. There is a lot of paperwork required by the rules, but we take care of that side of things so our members don't have to worry. Kranti Nagar has a good feel to it, and being based right here means we are never far from the people we serve. We just keep things moving along, one day at a time, making sure we are reliable and honest in everything we do. It’s a practical, local operation and we like it that way.
