Sometimes the power goes out for a few hours, so we keep some flashlights and manual ledgers handy just in case. We don't like to waste time on things that don't matter. We just focus on the task at hand. The atmosphere in Khapahi Mohlla is generally friendly. You can hear kids playing nearby or people talking in the street. We feel like we belong here. The people who work in the office are local residents, so we understand the problems and the way of life in this part of Jharkhand. We don't have any big corporate slogans. We just show up in the morning, open the shutters, and get to work. When the day is over, we lock up and head home to our families. It’s a decent way to live.
