It is usually pretty hot at our place over at No. 70 Kamaraj Nagar in Paramasiva Puram, especially during the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. We have been working out of this spot for a while now, and the office is always full of rolled-up drawings and half-empty tea cups. T Preethi Constructions Pvt. Ltd. isn't a big fancy operation with hundreds of people in suits. It is mostly just us and the guys on the sites trying to get things finished before the rain starts or the permits run out. We spend most of our mornings talking to suppliers or checking why a truck is late. Paramasiva Puram is a busy area, so getting materials through the traffic can be a real headache some days. You will often see our motorbikes parked outside under the shade of that one tree that survived the road widening. We do a lot of walking back and forth between the desk and the job sites around the neighborhood. Sometimes the fans in the office make more noise than the actual work outside, but we get used to it. The walls are covered in notes about cement prices and labor schedules. It is a bit messy, but that is how a real construction office looks when things are actually moving. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever comes up that day.
