Shukla Bricks

We are based in Village Jalalpur, right near the Government School. It is a quiet spot in the Lalganj tehsil of Vaishali district. Being near the school means we hear the kids playing during their breaks, which is a nice change from the sound of the work. We make bricks out here in the open. It is a lot of manual labor, digging and shaping the earth. My family lives nearby, and we have been doing this for years. The road to the village can be a bit bumpy, especially during the monsoon season when everything turns to mud. We don't have a big sign or any fancy office. People just know where to find us. We spend most of our time out in the fields or by the kilns. It is a basic life, but it is what we know. Sometimes we sit under the shade of a tree to have our tea and talk about the day's work. The school is the main thing nearby, so everyone uses it as a reference point when they give directions. When the bricks are ready, we stack them up high in the yard. We sell to the local villagers and some builders from the town. It is not a complicated business. We just take the earth, bake it, and sell it to whoever needs it for their construction. We are just regular folks working hard every day to keep the business going. We start early and finish when the work is done.
