We are located at Akkara House on Kavaratti Island. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near the post office. Being out here in Lakshadweep is a bit different from the mainland. Everything depends on the weather and when the boats come in. We run this beach resort, but it’s a very local affair. We don't have a big office or a bunch of suits running things. It’s just a few of us making sure the rooms are clean and the guests have what they need. The salt air is hard on the building, so there’s always something to paint or fix. We don't mind the work. It’s part of living on an island. We get people who want to see the ocean and the lagoons. We provide a simple place for them to stay. It’s not a luxury setup with fancy gadgets. We focus on the basics. Most of our days are spent waiting for supplies or tidying up the sand that gets everywhere. The staff all grew up around here, so we know the island inside and out. We don't do any big promotions. People find us because it’s a small island and word gets around. It’s a quiet life, and we just try to keep the business going one day at a time. No corporate pressure, just the rhythm of the sea and the arrival of the weekly ferries with new supplies.
