PET Bottle Crushing Company

Our place, PET Bottle Crushing Company, is out in Village Rowkhowa. We are in the Lakhipur Tehsil part of Goalpara, right near the railway station. You can hear the trains passing by all day while we work. We spend our time taking in old plastic bottles and putting them through the crushers. It is loud and there is always a lot of movement. The yard is usually full of big bags stuffed with plastic. We started this because there was so much waste lying around and we figured we could do something with it. It is hard work and the sun can be quite hot out here in the open. We have a small crew from the village who help with the sorting and the machines. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, which is frustrating, but we just wait it out. The machines need a lot of maintenance because the plastic is tough on them. We are not a big factory, just a local setup trying to process what comes in. It’s dusty and not very pretty to look at, but it’s what we do. The location near the station helps when we need to move the crushed material out. We just keep going, day after day, piling up the bags until the truck arrives to take them away to the next place.
