Telahi Pig Producer Company Limited

Out here in Jorkhat, things move pretty slowly most days. We are the Telahi Pig Producer group. Most of us come from the Dhambukial area in Lakhimpur. There is a lot of greenery and open space around here. We work with pigs because it is what our fathers and grandfathers did before us. We eventually decided to make it official with a proper company name. It helps us deal with the paperwork and the bank. Our village is quite small, so everyone knows what everyone else is doing. If someone needs help with their livestock, they usually come find us. We spend most of our time outdoors in the fresh air. The smell of the farm is something you just get used to after a while. It is not a job for everyone, but we enjoy it. We have a small building in the Amtoladist area. It is not much to look at from the outside. We keep all our records in some old ledgers. Sometimes the monsoon rain makes it hard to get the trucks in and out of the village. We just have to deal with those challenges. We talk about the weather constantly because it affects the animals' health. In the evenings, we often sit by the road and watch the world go by. We are just local people trying to build something for our families. We do not have a big plan or any complex strategies.
