Lohitporia Foundation

We started Lohitporia Foundation here in Amulapatty Gogamukh. It’s a small place, mostly just us working out of Ganeswar Doley’s spot. Lakhimpur is a quiet area and things move slowly, but we try to keep ourselves busy with whatever needs doing locally. We aren't a big office with fancy chairs or anything like that. Just some people from the neighborhood trying to be useful. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to get things done, especially when the rain starts, but we manage. People know where to find us if they need to talk or if they have something for us to look at. We don’t have a big team, just a few folks who live nearby and care about what happens in this corner of Assam. It gets a bit dusty around here in the dry season and the roads aren't always great, but we like it. We've been at this for a while now. Most days involve just sitting down and figuring out the day's tasks. There's no big secret to how we operate. We just show up and do the work. It’s not always easy keeping everything organized, but we try. If you're passing through Amulapatty, you’ll likely see us around. We’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know the people and the problems they face every day. It's just home for us. We don't have much, but we make it work.
