Inakshita Handloom Producer Companylimited is based in a village called Rupiabathan. We are located at Dhireswar Barman’s place, which is quite close to Kamrup College. If you’re in the P.O. Chamata area, you can probably find us by asking around. It’s a very quiet village setting, which is nice for focusing on the handloom work. We don't have a big factory or a lot of high-tech equipment. It’s mostly just people sitting at their looms and working through the day. The college being nearby means there’s always some activity on the main road, but once you get back toward our spot, it settles down. Dhireswar Barman helps us keep things organized. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make good handloom products and provide some work for the folks in Rupiabathan. Sometimes the supply of raw materials gets delayed because the roads aren't great, but we make do with what we have. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't have a lot of office staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from cleaning up to packing the finished goods. It’s a bit messy sometimes, and the paperwork can be a headache, but we get through it. We’re just a group of locals trying to keep a traditional craft going in our small corner of the world.
