Surivinder Store

If you are ever in Village Puranpur, you will find Surivinder Store. We are right in the middle of the Tehsil, not far from the Post Office and the Ranchi Inter College. Because we are so close to the college, we see a lot of students coming in throughout the day. They usually want pens, notebooks, or some snacks during their breaks. It keeps the energy high around the shop. The building is a simple structure with shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. I use a small wooden stool to reach the items at the top. Sometimes I forget where I put things and have to hunt around for a minute. The shop has been in Puranpur for quite a while now. We know most of our customers by name and we know what they usually buy before they even ask. My wife sometimes helps out in the evenings when it gets crowded. We don't have a computer for the billing, just a thick notebook where we write everything down by hand. It works for us. The rain can be a problem sometimes as the road outside gets muddy and people don't want to step out. But generally, it’s a steady flow of people. We enjoy the chat as much as the selling. It’s a small life but it’s a good one here in Pilibhit.
