L H Sugar Factories Ltd.

Our place, L H Sugar Factories Ltd., is located in Surbhi Colony, which is part of the Civil Lines area in Pilibhit. We’re quite close to Tanakpur Road, so we see a lot of the long-distance traffic passing by. The factory is a big part of our daily life here. Depending on the time of year, it gets very busy with the harvest coming in. You can usually tell we’re working by the smell in the air—it’s that heavy, sweet scent that sticks to your clothes. The office side of things is over in the colony, which is a bit quieter than the main road. We’ve got some old wooden furniture and a lot of ledgers that go back years. Pilibhit is a quiet town mostly, but around here, things are always moving. We have people coming in from the surrounding farms all day. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the machines are holding up. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re more focused on what’s happening on the floor. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather since it affects everything we do. It’s a traditional kind of setup. We don't use much fancy technology if we can help it. We just stick to the methods that have worked for us for a long time. It’s hard work, but it’s honest.
