Universal Beauty Parlour

Attapur X Roads is always a mess of traffic and noise, but our parlour stays right there opposite Pillar No 120. If you are driving down the road in Hyderabad, you just look for that pillar and you will see us. The shop is not huge but it fits everything we need. I usually start the day by wiping down the counters and checking the thread supply. We go through a lot of cotton thread every week. The chairs are comfortable enough for a long sit. You can hear the bikes revving outside through the glass. People come in from the heat looking a bit tired. I keep the water filter filled up in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. The floor is a light color so every bit of hair shows up, which keeps us busy with the broom. It is a local place where the neighbors come to catch up. I have known some of the ladies for years. We talk about the prices of vegetables or the new shops opening up in Attapur. It isn't a place with a lot of fancy gadgets. Just scissors, combs, and the usual creams. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the mirrors and makes a glare, so we have to adjust the curtains. It is just a regular way to earn a living in a busy part of the city. We keep things moving and try to stay organized through the rush.
