Startek Electricals Pvt. Ltd. is based at Plot No. A-24 & 30 in the Ida area of Nacharam. We have a couple of plots here because we need the extra room for all the electrical parts and machinery we handle. Nacharam is an old industrial belt, and it feels like a real working-class neighborhood. The floors are concrete and the ceilings are high, which is good for the heat. We spend our time assembling components and making sure the electrical boards are wired correctly. It’s repetitive work sometimes, but you have to be careful with every single connection. We don't have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some old photos and the necessary safety signs. The staff usually brings their lunch and we eat together in the small break room near the entrance. It’s a friendly enough place, though we’re mostly focused on the orders that need to go out by Friday. We don't do a lot of advertising. People usually find us because they’re in the same industry or they’ve seen our trucks driving around the city. It’s just a group of people doing their jobs in a part of town that’s built for industry. We keep the lights on and the machines running, and that’s about all there is to it. No one here is trying to be a corporate executive; we’re just happy to have steady work that keeps us going year after year.
