About Springon Mattress – Tourism in K.v.rangareddy
Being out here in the Industrial Estate in Medchal means we deal with a lot of noise and dust. Our building, No. 18/A, is basically a big shell where we keep the mattresses. The road outside is usually full of trucks and lorries moving goods around, so there’s always a bit of a rumble in the ground. Inside, the ceilings are high and the floors are concrete. We don’t have much in the way of decoration because it’s a working space. There are stacks of springs and rolls of fabric sitting near the back wall. During the middle of the day, it gets quite warm, so we have a couple of big industrial fans blowing to keep the air moving. We spend a lot of time checking the stitching on the covers and making sure the labels are on straight. It’s a lot of physical labor, dragging mattresses from one side of the room to the other to get them ready for shipping. Sometimes we have a quick lunch sitting on the edge of the loading dock just to get some air. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The paperwork gets done on a metal desk that’s seen better days. We know the other guys in the estate, and we often share news about the traffic or the local power cuts. It’s just a busy, dusty place where we get the work done and go home.
