We are based over at Microsoft Village in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. It’s a very modern part of the city with all the big tech companies nearby. However, our office for the ECC division is focused on the construction and engineering side of things. It’s a busy place where people are often dressed in work gear rather than formal suits. Our office is located inside the larger L&T premises here. We spend our days dealing with a lot of logistics and material planning for the various projects happening around the state. The traffic in Gachibowli can be quite a nightmare, so most of us try to get to the office early to avoid the worst of it. The workspace is functional and designed for getting things done quickly. We have a lot of maps and project schedules pinned up on the walls. It’s a fast-paced environment where something is always happening. We don’t have much time for small talk or long meetings. Most of our coordination happens over the phone or in quick chats. We have a small pantry where we make our own tea and coffee. The windows look out onto other office blocks and construction sites, which reminds us of the work we have to do. We’ve been here since this area was mostly empty land. It’s been interesting to see how much it has grown. We just keep our heads down and focus on our specific engineering tasks.
