Our place, H . S .Containers Pvt. Ltd., is at B-57 near the Sunder Weigh Bridge in Balanagar. It’s a loud area with all the big lorries coming in to get weighed. We specialize in making containers, which sounds simple but there’s a lot to keep track of. The workshop is big enough for our equipment, but it gets crowded when we have a lot of finished stock waiting to go out to customers. We’ve got a small crew of workers who have been doing this for a long time. They don’t need much instruction anymore. We don't have a receptionist, so if you come by, you might have to shout over the machines to get someone’s attention. It’s a dusty job, and we all go home with a bit of grime on us. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just try to make sure the lids fit the containers and nothing leaks out. Sometimes a machine breaks down on a Friday afternoon, and we all stay late to fix it. That’s just life in Balanagar. We know the tea stall guy down the road really well. It’s an unpolished, working-class kind of place. We value getting the work done right more than looking professional. We’ve been here at B-57 for years and it’s home to us.
