Sri Ganesh Enterprises

Our place is located at No.11-156/4 right on the Main Road in Fathenagar. Sri Ganesh Enterprises has been on this same corner for quite a long time now. It’s a typical local business where we stock whatever people in the neighborhood are looking for. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling and they are usually packed so tight we have to use a rickety ladder to get things down. The main road is always loud with heavy trucks and auto-rickshaws zooming past, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard. We open the shutters early in the morning and don't close them until late at night. There’s no air conditioning here, just a large ceiling fan that makes a bit of noise while it spins. We keep all our accounts in those big red ledger books because the old computer we have is too slow to use for everything. Meeting the different customers who walk in throughout the day is the best part of the job. Some folks just come in to talk for a bit before they buy something small. It’s a very old-fashioned way of doing business, but it’s what we’ve always done. We have a tiny room in the back where we keep the extra stock and sit down to eat our lunch. The concrete floor is worn out from years of people walking in and out. We don't bother with ads, people just know we’re here.
