Kutch Minerals

Being down on Bunder Road in Mandvi means we are always close to the water. Kutch Minerals has been operating here for quite some time now. You can smell the salt in the air most days, especially when the wind kicks up from the sea. Our work is mostly about moving minerals and getting things ready for transport. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of weights. The port area is always moving, so there’s never really a dull moment. We have a small office where we keep all the records, but most of us are out where the materials are kept. It gets incredibly hot in the summer, and the dust from the minerals covers everything if you aren't careful. We wear boots and heavy clothes even when it’s boiling outside. Mandvi is a nice place to live, but the work we do is tough and gritty. We deal with trucks coming in and out all day long. Sometimes the ships are delayed, and that changes our whole schedule for the week. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing tools. If people need us, they know where Bunder Road is located. We just focus on the piles of rock and earth we have to move every single day. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the sun goes down over the coast. We’ve been part of this landscape for years and plan to stay here for many more.
