Gethva Consalst

Gethva Consalst is tucked away in Shop No-8 at Gandotra Chamber. We are right on Nanalal Vora Marg in Mandvi, which is out in the District of Kachchh. The air here usually smells like the salt and dust from the local area. Our shop is small and filled with folders and old ledgers. We don’t have much space for extra furniture, so it gets a bit cramped when more than two people come in at once. The Gandotra Chamber building has seen better days, but it serves its purpose for us. Mandvi is a place where things move at their own pace, and we do the same. We handle a lot of paperwork and people come to us with all kinds of questions. Sometimes we have to look things up in old books because the digital records aren't always clear. It can be a long day sitting under the ceiling fan, especially in the summer months when Kachchh gets really hot. We know most of the other shop owners around Nanalal Vora Marg. We often share a tea in the afternoon while looking out at the street. It’s a very simple operation. There are no big slogans or fancy uniforms here. We just sit at our desks and help out whoever walks through the door. The floor is concrete and the walls have some cracks, but it's home for our work.
