Deepak Cha Bhandar

We started this little tea spot near Dhatia Street a long time back. It's right in the middle of Main Bazar, so it gets pretty loud and busy during the afternoons. Mostly, we just focus on getting the tea right every morning. We have a few regular guys who come by before work, and then the shoppers start showing up later. The shop isn't fancy or anything. It is just a simple place where you can get a hot cup and maybe a biscuit if we have them in stock that day. Sometimes the street gets crowded with carts, but that is just how it is around here. We don't really do any big advertising or things like that. People just know where we are because we have been here forever. My father used to handle things, and now I mostly take care of the daily stuff. We keep a few different types of tea leaves in the back. It is a lot of work to keep things clean and running when the market is this crowded, but we manage somehow. Usually, we open up quite early when the air is still a bit cool. You can find us easily if you walk down past the old cloth shops. It’s just a normal business trying to do things the right way without making a big fuss about it. We appreciate the people who stop by daily. It’s not much, but it’s our life. We hope to stay here for many more years.
