Air Force Hospital

At the SMC AF Station, you’ll find the Air Force Hospital tucked into its usual spot. It’s more of a dedicated medical center for the station life here. Most of us who work here have our daily habits down to a science. You arrive, check the list for the day, and start seeing who needs help. It isn't a place for sitting around. The waiting room is usually filled with people from the station, some coming in for routine physicals and others because they’ve caught a cold. The walls are mostly bare, maybe a few posters about health basics, but nothing much else. It has that distinct smell of a clinic, a mix of cleaning supplies and old paper. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes when a lot of people show up at once, it gets a bit crowded. The building itself has been part of the station for years. It’s seen a lot of people pass through its doors. We just focus on the task at hand, making sure the records are updated and the medicine is stocked. There’s no big mystery to it; it’s just a hospital doing its work for the people at AF Station. Every day is pretty much like the one before, focusing on the people who walk in and making sure they get what they need before they head back out. It's a small place, but it's essential for those living and working inside the base gates every single day.
